From Claude to an editable Word file

Claude responses are typically Markdown. ChatGPT2Word preserves that structure when you need a document for review cycles: headings map to Word styles, GFM tables become real tables, fenced code stays monospace (with language labels), task lists and strikethrough are kept, and common LaTeX becomes editable Word equations.

Claude-specific tips

  • Prefer Copy on the assistant message rather than screenshotting — you keep tables and code fences.
  • Long research answers with nested lists paste cleanly; check the live preview before download.
  • If Claude used ( \\frac{a}{b} )-style dirty math, the preprocessor normalizes it when it looks like LaTeX.
  • Drop a .md export from your notes app if you already saved the answer offline.

Typical workflow

  1. Copy the Claude answer (Markdown).
  2. Paste into the converter (or upload/drop a file) and check the live preview.
  3. Download .docx, Copy formatted into Docs, or Export PDF via print.

Claude → Word FAQ

Copy tips, math, privacy, and when to use Copy formatted.

How do I copy Markdown from Claude?

In claude.ai, open the response menu and use Copy. Claude usually puts GitHub-flavored Markdown on the clipboard — paste it here, then Download .docx or Copy formatted.

Does Claude Artifacts / Projects need a special mode?

No special mode. Copy the Markdown (or download a .md from your notes) and paste or drop the file. Structure — headings, lists, tables, code — maps to Word styles client-side.

Will Claude math become editable equations?

Yes for common $...$ / $$...$$ and \(...\) / \[...\] LaTeX, plus ChatGPT-style dirty ( LaTeX ) wrappers when they look like math. Unsupported fragments get an explicit [Math] note instead of silent loss.

Is Claude content uploaded?

No. Conversion runs in your browser. Drafts optionally stay in localStorage on your device only.

Copy formatted vs Download .docx — which should I use?

Download .docx when you want a new file with real Word heading styles and OMML math. Copy formatted when you want to paste rich text into an already-open Word or Google Docs document.

Free forever for conversion

Markdown → Word runs entirely in your browser. No account, no upload, no paywall on the converter. That is the product — not a trial.

Optional roadmap (not required, not charged)

Ideas we may explore later — batch ZIP, custom Word templates, brand headers — only if they stay honest about privacy. Nothing here is sold or billed today. Core conversion stays free.
